Serghei Tarnovschi will fight for a medal in the final of the 1000 meters single canoe event at the Olympics
The canoeist Serghei Tarnovschi qualified in the final of the 1000-meter single canoe event at the Olympic Games. A bronze medalist in the previous edition, the 27-year-old athlete ranked 2nd in the semi-final with 3:45.33.
The Moldovan canoeist will compete in the final today, starting at 14:50. He will have formidable opponents in the decisive race: German Sebastian Brendel, Brazilian Isaquias Queiroz, Italian Carlo Tacchini, Polish Wiktor Glazunow, Hungarian Balazs Adolf and Zahar Petrov, who competes under the neutral flag.
Serghei Tarnovschi is at his third participation in the Olympic Games. At the Tokyo Olympics, he won the bronze medal.
