76% of bachelor's budgeted places filled in Moldova

Approximately 76% of budgeted places for bachelor's programs have been filled in the first round of admissions, with the number of enrolled students being 15% higher compared to the same period last year.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), over 13,000 students have been enrolled in bachelor's programs in the initial stage of the 2024 admission session—about 1,600 more students than the previous year. Additionally, approximately 3,000 candidates have been enrolled in master's programs.

This year, universities had a total of 8,694 budgeted places: 5,299 for bachelor's programs and 2,869 for master's programs. An additional 106 budgeted places were reserved for foreign citizens.

According to MEC data, the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Nicolae Testemițanu" filled all available budgeted places after the first round of admissions.

For the second round of the 2024 admissions, universities have made available 1,206 budgeted places for bachelor's programs and 334 for master's programs, across various fields such as Educational Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Manufacturing and Processing Technologies, Social Sciences, Sports, and Security Services. Additionally, the admission process continues at regional universities that still have available budgeted places.

According to data provided by the ministry, the most sought-after fields remain Law, Economic Sciences, Educational Sciences, Medicine, and Information and Communication Technology.
