612 projects to enhance infrastructure and services nationwide
The 612 projects selected under the National Program for the European Village, Edition 2024, have been incorporated into the Unique Program Document for 2022-2024.
The Moldovan National Office for Regional and Local Development will soon begin signing the funding contracts.
“The government is fostering prosperity here at home and will continue to enhance this effort, including when we gain access to pre-accession funds from the European Union. We must focus on this,” stated Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The majority of the projects—223—encompass the construction or expansion of water supply networks and sewerage services. An additional 128 projects focus on renovating and improving the energy efficiency of public buildings; 57 projects will involve installing public lighting; and 30 projects will establish systems for generating energy from renewable sources.
Moreover, 104 projects will be undertaken to construct or rehabilitate buildings for social or medical services, and 70 projects will restore monuments and historical structures specific to rural architecture. These projects will be implemented across the country to ensure balanced regional development.
The total value of the projects is approximately 2.8 billion lei. The National Fund for Regional and Local Development will contribute 2.5 billion lei, with the remaining amount allocated from local budgets.
Overall, upon completion of the projects outlined in the Unique Program Document for 2022-2024, over 1 million citizens will benefit from improved living conditions.
