Weather conditions and excess weight cause Raisi’s helicopter crash
The crash of the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, which resulted in his death, was attributed to adverse weather conditions and the aircraft's inability to bear the weight it was transporting, Reuters reports.
According to the source, a preliminary report from the Iranian military in May indicated that, up until that time, the investigation had not uncovered any criminal evidence or signs of an attack.
The investigation revealed that the helicopter was carrying two more passengers than the capacity allowed under security protocols.
In May, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi lost his life when the helicopter crashed in mountainous terrain near the border with Azerbaijan. Alongside him, all eight other occupants of the helicopter also perished, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
