Moldova and Romania to strengthen cooperation in tourism sector
The prospects for Moldovan-Romanian cooperation in the tourism sector and the opportunity to undertake joint projects to stimulate the development of this sector were discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Romanian mayors, who are members of the National Association of Spa and Balneoclimateric Resorts of Romania, according to a statement from the Government.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of the partnerships established between local authorities in both countries, noting that Romania's experience in developing communities based on the European model is valuable for the Republic of Moldova.
“In our efforts to build Europe at home, we need the support of our partners, including best practices and guidance in the absorption of European funds. We are ready to strengthen the Moldovan-Romanian partnership in key areas—the energy sector, road infrastructure in both countries—and to jointly develop the tourism sector as well,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
During the dialogue, seaside and spa tourism were also discussed, and the possibility of extending Romania's vacation voucher program to the Republic of Moldova was examined.
