Klaus Iohannis visits Moldova for Romanian Language Day
President Klaus Iohannis of Romania, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova to mark Romanian Language Day, was welcomed by President Maia Sandu in a ceremony with military honours at the Presidential Palace.
The two heads of state are scheduled to retire to a private setting for official discussions. At 12:05 PM, following the bilateral talks, Maia Sandu and Klaus Iohannis will hold a joint press conference. Statements from both heads of state will be broadcast live on Moldova 1, the public television channel, and on Radio Moldova, the national radio station.
The Bucharest Presidency announced the day before that, in Chișinău, the leader from Cotroceni would deliver a firm message of support for reform efforts, democratisation, irreversible implementation of rule-of-law principles, and securing Moldova's European path. Additionally, Iohannis is expected to call on all international partners to continue providing assistance to Moldova.
Also today, Maia Sandu and Klaus Iohannis will sign the "Joint Declaration on Bilateral Cooperation to Strengthen the Resilience of Moldova."
