Mihai Popșoi addresses Russia’s impact on Moldova at GLOBSEC
The main challenges facing the European continent, the Black Sea region, and, directly, the Republic of Moldova, were discussed by Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi and his Czech counterpart, Jan Lipavský, at the GLOBSEC Forum in Prague.
In his speech, the Moldovan official also addressed Russia's aggression against Ukraine, which continues to severely impact the country through loss of life and destruction of civilian infrastructure.
"The impact of the aggression also affects our country's economy, but thanks to the support of our partners from the free world, the Republic of Moldova is becoming more resilient," said Mihai Popșoi.
The Deputy Prime Minister also addressed the hybrid threats facing the Republic of Moldova from the Russian Federation. These include the spread of disinformation and propaganda, cyberattacks, and attempts to derail the country's European path.
"Every day, we are forced to combat numerous falsehoods and attempts at manipulation. We will not allow foreign forces to promote their selfish interests on our territory. We will continue to make every effort necessary for the Republic of Moldova to solidify its place in the broader European family. Our future is in the European Union, where prosperity and development are guaranteed," declared the minister.
Additionally, the Moldovan official discussed the measures taken by national authorities to enhance the country's defence, resilience, and security capabilities.
