Siegen knife attack leaves six injured, three critical
Six people were injured after being attacked with a knife on a bus in Siegen, in western Germany.
A woman randomly stabbed passengers on the bus who were on their way to a festival. Three of the victims are in critical condition. The police arrested the 32-year-old woman and are investigating what prompted her to commit this act.
According to the AFP news agency, there are indications that the suspect might have mental health issues.
It is worth noting that the attack occurred exactly one week after the one in Solingen, Germany, where a Syrian man attacked a crowd at a festival with a knife. On that occasion, three people were killed and eight others were injured. The new incident comes after Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced yesterday the prohibition of carrying bladed weapons at public events. The ban also applies to long-distance transportation, such as trains and buses.
