Four out of five members of the Special Commission for pre-selection of candidates for the position of chief prosecutor of the PCCOCS resigned
Four of the five members of the Special Commission for Preselection of Candidates for the position of Chief Prosecutor of the PCCOCS tendered their resignations. The information was confirmed for Radio Moldova by the president of the Superior Council of Prosecutors, Angela Motuzoc, who stated that soon, the members of the commission will publish a press release on this topic.
The applications are to be reviewed at a CSP meeting, and after the resignations are accepted, the Council will need to form a new pre-selection committee. We remind you that yesterday the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) rejected the request of the Minister of Justice, Sergiu Litvinenco, to cancel the competition for the position of chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS). Last week, Iulian Groza, one of the members of the Commission for preselection of candidates for the position of prosecutor - head of the PCCOCS complained of pressure and attempts at intimidation and demanded the annulment of the results of the first stage of the competition. Today, the second test was to take place, that of the interview for the position of head of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, to which three candidates were admitted, namely Andrei Mațco, Eugeniu Rurac and Sergiu Russu, who held until in mid-December the position of interim head of PCCOCS.
