The number of COVID-19 cases, down by almost 23% in the last week

The number of COVID-19 cases is decreasing at the national level, the National Public Health Agency (ANSP) announces. Between September 2-8, 1542 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were reported, including 273 cases in the Transnistrian region.

The number of registered cases is down by 22.8% compared to the previous week. Also, the number of cases among children aged 0-14 decreased by 27.7%, with 330 cases reported.

In the same period, 10,308 tests were carried out, with a positivity rate of 14.9%, down from the previous week.

To prevent a new increase in cases, ANSP recommends observing protective measures, such as maintaining social distance, correct hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene, avoiding crowded places, ventilating closed spaces and vaccination against COVID-19. The agency also emphasizes the importance of getting information from official sources and avoiding travel to high-risk areas unless necessary.
