Massive fire at a warehouse in Balti: 900 square meters, destroyed by flames
A devastating fire broke out last night at a warehouse located on Mihail Sadoveanu str. in Balti municipality. The call to Service 112 was registered at 01:25. Several fire crews were sent to the scene, informs the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU).
The firefighters came on the spot and found that an area of about 900 square meters was destroyed by flames. To limit the spread of the fire, 64 rescuers and firefighters were mobilized with 14 emergency vehicles. According to IGSU, the efforts of the rescue teams allowed the location of the fire and the rescue of some warehouses with furniture located nearby, on an area of about 2,000 square meters.
The fire was located at 06:11, but the firefighters continue the work of washing and dismantling the affected structures. As a result of the fire, metal equipment and goods inside the warehouse were destroyed, but no casualties were recorded. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
