Ukrainian pilots have started training on F16 planes in Romania
Ukrainian pilots have started training on the F-16 in Romania, announced the Minister of Defense from Kiev, Rustem Umerov, who said that he was preparing to visit Bucharest, reports news.ro. The official stated that he spoke on the phone with his Romanian counterpart, Angel Tîlvăr, about strengthening the protection of the Ukrainian sky against Russian missiles and drones.
In November 2023, the European Pilot Training Center for F-16 aircraft was inaugurated at the Borcea Air Force Base in Romania, and in July this year, the first pilots were already trained. Romania provided its infrastructure, the F-16 manufacturer sent the instructors, and the Netherlands provided the planes for training.
We remind that the USA, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway promised to supply F-16 planes to Ukraine, and the Ukrainian leader announced that the first machines have already arrived in Ukraine and started to be used by Ukrainian pilots.
