The Republic of Moldova could open Honorary Consulate in Cairo
The Republic of Moldova is interested in opening a diplomatic mission in Egypt. In this regard, the Egyptian authorities agreed to establish the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Cairo. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, after he had a meeting in New York with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty.
According to the head of Moldovan diplomacy, the discussion also focused on strengthening the bilateral legal framework and resuming negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and Egypt.
"I expressed the Republic of Moldova's interest in taking over Egypt's experience in the field of renewable and sustainable energy, but also the intention to attract Egyptian investments in agriculture, medicine, etc.," said Mihai Popșoi.
At the end of the meeting, the Moldovan foreign minister sent an invitation to his Egyptian counterpart to visit the Republic of Moldova.
We remind that diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Arab Republic of Egypt were established on February 13, 1992.
