Israel - in state of emergency, war and force majeure. Ambassador Alexandr Roitman urges Moldovans to be vigilant
The security situation in Israel remains extremely fragile, with unpredictable developments, said the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Israel, Alexandr Roitman. The official said for Teleradio Moldova that in recent days, tensions have increased, especially following the Israeli military operations carried out in the north of the country and in the south of Lebanon.
"We see that Israel has initiated a military operation in the north of the country, and in this context, the firing of rockets in the direction of Israel has intensified," explained the ambassador. He pointed that the Israeli authorities have introduced a state of force majeure, along with a state of emergency and a state of war, to allow additional restrictions on citizens' movements and actions.
"The situation remains volatile and future developments are unknown," Roitman emphasized, urging Moldovan citizens to be vigilant, to follow all instructions from the authorities and get informed from official sources of information.
Also, the ambassador mentioned that, although there were no official requests for assistance from Moldovan citizens following these events, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a new travel alert. Citizens are advised to leave Lebanon and to limit travel to southern and northern Israel.
In addition, Roitman confirmed that air traffic has been affected, and several international companies have canceled or suspended flights for varying periods. "Even Israeli companies have changed their flight schedule," the ambassador added.
"The airport is open and continues to operate, but there are disruptions to the flight schedule," Roitman said.
According to Chisinau International Airport, there were no deviations on flights from the Republic of Moldova to Israel.
We remind you that hundreds of people died or were injured following airstrikes launched on Monday by the Israeli army against Hezbollah targets, according to the Lebanese authorities. The Middle East is facing an escalation of tensions these days, amid hostilities between Israeli forces and the militant group Hezbollah. In recent days, the border area between Israel and Lebanon has become the scene of intense exchanges of fire, rocket attacks and air raids.
