The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Romania (IGSU) issued an RO-Alert message for the residents of the northern area of Tulcea county on the night of Thursday to Friday, after the defense and monitoring structures of the border airspace detected a group of drones heading towards targets on Ukrainian territory, located on the border with Romania, reports news.ro.

According to the authorities, the message sent to the population warned of possible dangers, urging citizens to remain calm. "In the event that objects fall from the airspace, the population is asked to comply with the sheltering and self-protection recommendations sent through the RO-Alert message," ISU Tulcea sent.

ISU representatives reported two calls to the single emergency number 112. The first call was to request additional information, and the second was made by a citizen who reported hearing explosions on Ukrainian territory, in the northern area.

"We make it clear that the areas targeted by the attacks of the Russian Federation are on Ukrainian territory, a short distance from the border with Romania. There is a possibility that certain objects may fall on Romanian territory as a result of the response of the Ukrainian army", explained the Romanian IGSU officials. They added that "no targets or areas on Romanian territory are targeted."

Citizens have been advised to remain vigilant and call the emergency number 112 if they feel in danger or observe unusual activities.
