The Republic of Moldova is strengthening its economic relations with the Land of Baden-Württemberg in Germany

The Republic of Moldova and the Land of Baden-Württemberg in Germany signed today a Memorandum of Understanding that provides for the strengthening of economic and commercial relations between the two regions. The agreement aims to boost cooperation in key areas such as investments, trade and digitization, in the context of our country's European path.

This Memorandum will place a special emphasis on attracting a greater number of investments, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, claims: "Germany has been and will remain a sincere and loyal friend of the Republic of Moldova on the path of European integration".

For his part, the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, reiterated his support for the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union: "We want to support and accompany your country on the path of European integration”.

Also, Kretschmann said that "Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine showed how important it is for democracies to stay united."

We remind you that the Memorandum of Understanding also provides for the creation of a mixed government commission that will facilitate dialogue and identify concrete cooperation projects. It is intended to attract as many investments as possible from world-renowned German companies, such as Porsche, Carl Zeiss, Hugo Boss and Bosch, to the Republic of Moldova. Both sides are committed to developing joint business and promoting exchanges of experience, including through student exchange programs.
