During the Government meeting, Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi proposed Vitalie Micov to the position of Chief of the General Staff of the National Army. His candidacy is to be approved by the president Maia Sandu.
"Mr. Micov has the necessary knowledge and experience to implement the necessary reforms in the National Army and the transformation of the defense institution into ensuring peace and promoting democratic values in the country," said Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi.
We mention that Vitalie Micov was the first military attaché of the Republic of Moldova in the USA and Canada. He was appointed to this position in October 2018.
From July 2023 until now, Colonel Micov has been the superior military commander of the peacekeeping contingent of the Republic of Moldova on the Nistru.
We remind you that the position of Chief of the General Staff of the National Army became vacant on September 27, when the President Maia Sandu signed the decree regarding the dismissal of Eduard Ohladciuc, whose military service contract expired.
