CEC prints 5.6 million ballot papers, in six languages, for polling stations in the Republic of Moldova

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) started printing more than 5.6 million ballot papers for the October 20 presidential election and constitutional republican referendum, which are to be distributed to polling stations in the country. For the first time, the ballot papers will be available not only in Romanian, but also in five languages of ethnic minorities: Russian, Ukrainian, Gagauz, Bulgarian and Romani.

According to the CEC, for each type of election, 2,819,996 ballot papers will be printed, of which 2,137,641 ballot papers are in Romanian, 676,979 in Russian, 115 in Ukrainian, 3,400 in Gagauz, 870 in Romanian and 991 in Bulgarian.

The size of a ballot paper for the presidential election is 14 cm wide and 31.7 cm long, and for the constitutional republican referendum - 16 cm long and 33 cm wide. Ballot papers will be distinguished by color: smoky gray for presidential and purple for referendum.

The price of a ballot paper is 0.72 lei for the presidential elections and 0.76 lei for the republican constitutional referendum.
