EU Foreign Ministers meet in Luxembourg. The upcoming elections in the Republic of Moldova, on the agenda
The Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meets on Monday, October 14, in Luxembourg. The meeting, chaired by Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will include discussions about the Republic of Moldova in the context of the presidential elections and the referendum for EU membership that will take place on October 20, the elections in Georgia, Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the tense situation in the Middle East, reads a statement from the Council.
Thus, during the meeting, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU will be informed about the elections in the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, caleaeuropeană.ro reports.
The ministers will also discuss Russia's aggression against Ukraine after an informal exchange of views with Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Minister Andrii Sîbiha via video conference.
The Council will further discuss the situation in the Middle East in light of recent developments.
Over lunch, EU foreign ministers will have an informal exchange of views with UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs David Lammy.
