Former deputy Victoria Cazacu joins "Partidul Nostru" political party. The PAS reaction
Victoria Cazacu, former deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), officially announced that she joined "Partidul Nostru", led by Renato Usatîi. The decision was communicated during a briefing, where Cazacu explained that the decision came "after several months of thinking", during which she had many discussions with his friends, acquaintances and colleagues.
"Most of these people, both from Chisinau and from the north of the country, recommended that I continue my work together with Renato Usatîi, the president of "Our Party". Only he can stop those who harm the country", said Victoria Cazacu.
The spokeswoman of the PAS fraction, Adriana Vlas, said that the former deputy was "removed from the party and the fraction in April for behavior incompatible with PAS values."
"Today it is reconfirmed that our decision to exclude her was a correct one," concluded Vlas.
We remind you that, in April, the deputy's daughter, Diana Cazacu, was targeted by searches at the Chisinau International Airport in a corruption case.
Shortly after, the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, asked the deputy to resign and reiterated that the party has assumed the fight against corruption and will not tolerate such cases.
For her part, Victoria Cazacu said for Teleradio-Moldova that her daughter was not detained, and under the conditions of the rule of law and the presumption of innocence, she does not intend to resign and will remain an unaffiliated deputy until all the circumstances are settled.
