Another 147 observers, accredited by the CEC for the October 20 elections. Most of them are from the US

During the meeting on Tuesday, October 15, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) accredited 147 observers to monitor the republican constitutional referendum and the elections for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova on October 20, 2024.

Of these, 83 are national observers. Thus, 41 people were accredited by the National Youth Center of Moldova (CNTM), 6 by the Center for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE), and 36 represent the Public Association "Promo-LEX".

64 international observers were also accredited. Among them are representatives of the embassies of several states, the most, 46 in number, are people from the Embassy of the United States of America, 8 from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and 3 from the Embassy of Poland. Also, there are observers from Japan, the Czech Republic, Italy and Uzbekistan.

The CEC has also accredited 155 interpreters, of which 134 from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/IDDO), 13 from the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO), and eight people from the International Republican Institute Washington, Chisinau Branch.

Also, two journalists of the press agency "Freedom TV" from Ukraine were confirmed to cover the electoral events of October 20, 2024.

The CEC states that the period for submitting observer accreditation requests expired on October 13, and today, October 15, is the deadline for requesting the accreditation of journalists.
