CEC set the date of the second round of the presidential elections
The second round of the presidential elections will take place on Sunday, November 3. A decision to this effect was approved by the Central Electoral Commission, after following the election of October 20, 2024, none of the candidates for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova scored at least half of the voters' votes.
According to the CEC, the ballot paper for the second round of voting will include two candidates who scored the highest number of votes in the first round of voting.
The commission also approved the text and model of the ballot paper for the second round of voting.
Also, voting in the second round will be based on the same electoral lists used in the first round.
We remind you that the incumbent president, Maia Sandu, who is running for a new mandate from the Action and Solidarity Party, and the former general prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo, who is supported by the Socialist Party, will compete in the second round of the presidential elections.
According to the data of the Central Electoral Commission, in the first round of the Presidential elections, Maia Sandu scored 42.45% of the votes, and Alexandr Stoianoglo - 25.98%.
