Eugen Doga honoured with new musical sculpture in Moldova

A striking bronze sculpture depicting the treble clef was inaugurated in downtown Chișinău today. The artwork, situated on the pedestrian street adjacent to Cathedral Park, was conceived in consultation with renowned composer Eugen Doga, who has expressed his approval of the final design.

This installation not only enhances the urban landscape but also serves as a celebration of musical art, inviting passersby to appreciate the beauty and significance of music in everyday life. It has already attracted the attention of numerous individuals, including tourists visiting from abroad.

Residents and visitors to the capital alike have praised the sculpture, noting that the treble clef symbol installed on the pedestrian street named after Maestro Eugen Doga ennobles the city's architecture and pays homage to the esteemed composer.

"I believe it's a wonderful addition to our city," one resident commented. "It beautifies the area, and its placement on Eugen Doga Street makes it even more special. I think it symbolises beauty because music is a sacred and beautiful landmark that shapes humanity. It's a fitting tribute to the maestro for his unique creations."

Others echoed this sentiment, emphasising the importance of promoting Moldovan culture through various artistic expressions. "Any element that promotes our country's culture is important, whether it's this sculpture, concerts, or other initiatives," a visitor remarked. "Every such endeavour is valuable."

The sculpture's connection to music resonated with many. "It's a logical choice for this location," one individual observed. "Music plays a vital role in our lives, accompanying us through both joyful and challenging moments." Another added, "It's a very original piece and seems to reflect the soul of Eugen Doga."

International visitors to the Republic of Moldova also expressed their admiration for the sculpture. "I'm a pianist, so I particularly appreciate this piece," one visitor shared. "It's stunning. Simply beautiful." Another simply stated, "It's a very beautiful piece and a wonderful idea."

The project included paving the area with steps shaped like piano keys, further complementing the bronze sculpture.
