Maia Sandu addresses potential government changes ahead

Maia Sandu has acknowledged that the presidential elections could lead to potential changes in the government team if she is reelected as president of the country.

The candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) stated during the electoral debate organised by Teleradio-Moldova that government reshuffles may be implemented by the end of the year.

“Yes, I believe we need to make changes in the government team. I have listened to citizens, talked in several localities, and heard their concerns, particularly regarding the areas where people expect improvements. I believe this should occur by the end of this year,” declared Maia Sandu.

Sandu admitted that the government team has made mistakes, despite the fact that “the intentions were good,” and noted that the governing period has been marked by numerous crises.

“Certainly, there have been protest votes, and that is understandable. We respect and acknowledge the reasons for this protest vote. And yes, we have made mistakes, even though our intentions were good and there have been many crises. Some people managed better, while others struggled for various reasons. Where there are questions of integrity, institutions must come forward and address them,” Sandu stated.

It is important to note that Teleradio-Moldova invited Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo to an electoral debate broadcast live on Moldova 1 and Radio Moldova. Alexandr Stoianoglo declined the invitation. In the studio, alongside the debate moderator, Radu Osipov, are several journalists from various newsrooms who will have the opportunity to pose questions to the two participants in the electoral debate.

In the second round of voting, scheduled for November 3, Maia Sandu, the candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, will face off against Alexandr Stoianoglo, the candidate supported by the Socialist Party. In the first round, Renato Usatîi, who ran for the Our Party he leads, came in third with 13.79% of the votes, totaling over 213,000 votes.
