Beneficiaries of energy compensation will be checked through the Border Police database

Beneficiaries of energy compensation will be checked whether or not they are in the country. The new energy compensation system that will be launched next week provides for interconnection with the Border Police database, said the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu.

"We make sure that the beneficiaries who are declared in the household are in the territory of the Republic of Moldova, as well as other relevant details," Minister Alexei Buzu explained.

In addition, the compensation system will also use information from the Fiscal Service and the Cadastre. “We will collect data and we will have access to the income level of that household. Depending on those incomes, we will set the compensation, so the compensation this year will be determined individually for each household," explained the minister.

Minister Buzu also emphasized that the system ensures the protection of personal data at the highest security standards, with citizens being protected in the process of collecting and processing information. "Access to data on citizens' income and property is carried out to the highest standard of security. We worked, we made sure that from a technical perspective, everything was ready, these data exchanges were carried out in an efficient time," he emphasized.

Citizens will only need their identity document and an energy bill to register, without any additional documents. "We have completed all internal, technical procedures, the system is ready...next week we will present all the details," said Minister Buzu, adding that a special phone line will be available for questions and clarifications related to the compensation program. Also, this year the ministry will delegate mobile teams that will help citizens register to benefit from compensation.

We remind you that, during the cold period of 2023-2024, more than 792 thousand households registered for compensation from the state. In all, over 2.5 billion lei were allocated.
