Presidential elections // Public order and freedom of movement, priorities in the Security Zone
The measures to maintain public order and ensure freedom of movement in the Security Zone were discussed during the meeting of the Joint Control Commission, held in Bender on October 31, 2024. The Joint Military Command presented a report on the situation in the Security Zone for the previous week and pointed to a calm and stable situation.
According to a press release, in the context of the second round of the presidential elections on November 3, the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated the importance of the freedom of movement of citizens and electoral officials in the Security Zone. The Delegation of Tiraspol appreciated the organization of security measures in the first round of the elections on October 20 and expressed its commitment to avoid any destabilization on the day of the election.
We remind you that the General Police Inspectorate will coordinate public order measures in the localities of the Security Zone where voting stations will be opened, to ensure the correct and safe conduct of the electoral process.
