Following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu came with a message on his Twitter account.
"We are closely following the tragic news from Turkey and Syria, both of which have been heavily affected by a disastrous earthquake. On behalf of the Republic of Moldova, we express our most sincere condolences to the families of the victims, while we express our hope for the speedy recovery of the injured", wrote Nicu Popescu on his Twitter account.
A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in the south of Turkey, near Syria, the international media announces. Almost 300 people have lost their lives in Turkey and Syria, hundreds are injured at this time. According to CNN, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 17.9 kilometers. Up to this time, 42 replicas have been recorded. The aftershocks could continue in the hours and even in the following days, experts say.
