Emmanuel Macron highlights Moldova’s pivotal election moment

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, addressed the citizens of the Republic of Moldova in Romanian in a message delivered on the eve of the presidential elections.

The French leader described the election on November 3rd as “a decisive moment” for both our country and Europe.

“In this decisive moment for Moldova and, alongside it, for our Europe, I wish to convey a message of courage and hope to the Moldovan citizens. The European path is one of freedom and democracy, the foundation for a shared future. United, we are stronger,” wrote French President Emmanuel Macron on X.

On Sunday, Moldovans are once again called to the polls to cast their vote for one of the two candidates who advanced to the second round of the presidential elections. This refers to the candidate from the Party of Action and Solidarity, Maia Sandu, who received 42.49% of the votes in the first round, and the candidate from the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandr Stoianoglo, who received 25.95% of the votes.
