Gagauzia supports new teachers with training program
This school year, 40 young teachers have joined educational institutions in Gagauzia. To help them integrate into the educational process, the General Directorate of Education in Comrat is organising various activities as part of the "School of the Young Teacher" program.
This program includes training seminars and workshops on topics such as teaching methodology and conflict resolution, where experienced teachers share their knowledge with young professionals.
The young teachers who have joined educational institutions in the south of the country are familiar with teaching techniques and with creating a positive learning environment. They have high expectations for gaining professional experience and developing their teaching careers.
"I teach Russian language and literature at the Sports Boarding School. I have 16 teaching hours per week. My experience here has been wonderful so far. The staff is friendly; they welcomed me with open arms, and the students are wonderful. Overall, I really enjoy teaching. The university provided me with a good foundation in teaching, for which I am grateful. I have high hopes for this seminar. As a new and inexperienced teacher, I need to gain experience, and I hope to discover the most interesting and effective teaching practices here," says Vitalie Constantinov.
"The university gave us a solid foundation in theory. Now we need practical experience to feel more confident. I believe this workshop will introduce us to new methodologies and recommendations that will help us teach our subjects in a more interactive and engaging way," says Ivanna Curdoglo.
"I am a primary school teacher, and I've just met my fellow new teachers. I am excited to learn from this experience. We have already talked a bit and learned from one another," said Dumitrița Moraru, a teacher in Comrat.
The "School of the Young Teacher" program includes young specialists who graduated from universities this year. Experienced teachers help them gain practical skills in teaching their subjects.
"Today, 15 young specialists from Gagauzia gathered for a meeting. We are helping them adapt to their workplace and implement their theoretical knowledge into practice. In the theoretical portion of the program, we will discuss lesson types and homework management. The practical portion will be a workshop titled 'The Road to Success.' We will try to understand what young teachers need to be successful. We provide methodological and psychological support to help them resolve conflict-related issues and overcome various challenging situations," stated Larisa Boicova, a senior specialist at the General Directorate of Education in Comrat.
The School of the Young Teacher is a project of the General Directorate of Education in Comrat that has been implemented since 2020. Fifty-seven graduates have completed the program so far. Currently, over 100 young specialists are involved in this professional training program.
