Final preparations underway for November 3 elections
Final preparations for the elections on November 3 were made today at polling stations across the country. Ballots were distributed early this morning to the chairs of the electoral offices, and each member received final instructions for the smooth conduct of the presidential election.
After counting the ballots, they were placed in a safe, where they are guarded by police officers.
At polling station number 40, located within the “Ștefan Neaga” Center of Excellence in Artistic Education in the capital, preparations began early in the day. After setting up the station, the electoral office members proceeded to count the ballots.
“Now we are preparing the tables. Before this, all electoral lists were verified and distributed to each electoral staff member. We have 11 electoral staff members, including a chair and a secretary. This is the same team as in the first round, so I believe it will be easier for us,” stated Elena Dragalschi, president of the electoral office.
After counting, the ballots are placed in a safe that is sealed.
Members of electoral office number 114 in the Telecentru neighbourhood followed the same procedure.
“Our polling station is ready to receive voters tomorrow. We have counted the ballots, checked for discrepancies, and there are no irregularities. The ballots have been verified, sealed, and placed in the safe in the presence of 11 members of the polling station and a police officer,” reported Diana Bistre, secretary of the electoral office.
Until tomorrow morning, when the polling stations will open, each safe will be under police supervision. For the presidential elections on November 3, a total of 2,221 polling stations have been set up, of which 234 are located abroad.
