Mihai Popșoi, message for the diaspora after the preliminary results of the vote: "We showed to the world that Moldova is not for sale"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, sent a message of gratitude to the Moldovan citizens in the diaspora who participated in record numbers in the presidential runoff, on November 3. "We showed to the world that Moldova is not for sale," the head of diplomacy from Chisinau wrote on social networks.

"Sincere thanks to our diaspora for the outstanding effort in the presidential runoff. In every state that voted on Sunday, voter turnout substantially exceeded previous turnout, and this mobilization effort made a huge difference. (…) We showed to the world that Moldova is not for sale. Together, we will succeed!".

According to the Central Electoral Commission, Moldovans voted most actively in polling stations in Moscow, Russia; Brescia, Padua, Vicenza, Venice and Verona in Italy; Bucharest, Romania; Paris and Saint Georges in France.

On November 3, 326,534 Moldovans voted in the diaspora, according to the preliminary data presented by the CEC after processing 98.70 percent of the voting processes.

Preliminary data show that the PAS candidate, Maia Sandu, wins in the second round of voting with more than 55 percent of the votes. His opponent, the PSRM candidate, Alexandr Stoianoglo, scored less than 45%.
