SCM names new judges for Chișinău and Bălți courts of appeal
The Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) appointed new judges to the courts of appeal in Chișinău and Bălți on November 13, following a selection process.
Accordingly, Judges Andrei Cașcaval, Lucia Bagrin, Vitalie Budeci, Constantin Roșca, Sergiu Dimitriu, Vitalie Pîslariuc, Eleonora Badan-Melnic, Grigore Manoli, Roman Pascari, and Gheorghe Stratulat were appointed to the Chișinău Court of Appeal. Meanwhile, Ivan Parii and Stanislav Grosu were appointed to the Bălți Court of Appeal.
Furthermore, SCM members resolved to recommend three judges—Vitalie Pîslariuc, Lucia Bagrin, and Stanislav Grosu—to the President of the Republic for formal appointment, citing their successful completion of an external evaluation.
The SCM also noted that at the Chișinău Court of Appeal, 19 of the 57 judicial positions are currently filled, leaving 38 vacant. At the Bălți Court of Appeal, 17 of the 24 positions are occupied, with seven remaining unfilled.
