Romania vs Cyprus: Key players missing for final Nations League clash
The Romanian national football team is preparing for their final match in the Nations League, where they will face Cyprus at home.
Coach Mircea Lucescu will not be able to count on two of the most important players in the current squad: captain Nicolae Stanciu, who is injured, and midfielder Dennis Man, who is suspended. Stanciu is injured, while Man is suspended.
“They are two important players, and we know that very well. They remain important as long as they are on the field. The players who will replace them are equally important,” said head coach Mircea Lucescu.
“We hope to achieve a victory and finish this campaign on a positive note. We all want to be happy after the match,” said player Andrei Rațiu.
The Romania vs. Cyprus match will be played on Monday, November 18, at the National Arena in Bucharest, kicking off at 21:45. Ahead of the match, the “tricolours” (refers to the nickname for the Romanian national football team, based on the colours of the country's flag—red, yellow, and blue) are in first place in Group C2 with 12 points. Kosovo is in second place, 3 points behind, but the Kosovars risk forfeiting 3-0 to Romania after leaving the field before the referee blew the final whistle.
