Ukraine’s Victory Plan: Zelenskyy calls for urgent missile aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to his partners for their support with air defence systems and missiles, emphasising that systems like Patriot should not remain in storage but instead be sent to those capable of saving lives and in urgent need of them.

His statement follows reports from several Western publications claiming that the U.S. President Joe Biden authorised Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied long-range missiles for strikes within Russia. The White House has not yet commented on these reports.

"We have not yet received all the essential systems from our allies, but we remain committed to achieving this goal. Once these systems are deployed, our capacity to fend off attacks will be greatly enhanced. Ukraine's strengthening strategy is the Victory Plan, which I presented to our partners. One of its key elements is equipping our military with long-range strike capabilities. Today, there has been much discussion in the media about our approval to take measures in this regard. But strikes are not carried out with words. These things are not announced. The missiles will speak for themselves," Zelenskyy wrote on Platform X.

Meanwhile, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated on Sunday evening that Washington's authorization for Kyiv to strike Russian territory with long-range missiles is "a language that Russian President Vladimir Putin understands," according to AFP.

"With the entry of North Korean troops into the war and the massive Russian missile attacks, President Joe Biden responded with a language Vladimir Putin understands," Sikorski remarked on Platform X.

It should be noted that on Sunday, Western publications reported that the Biden administration had authorised Ukrainian forces to use long-range missiles. Although the announcement is not official, it was disseminated through press reports shared simultaneously with The New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, and the Associated Press.
