With "cat litter" in the luggage. An Israeli, caught with 15 kg of drugs at Chisinau Airport
An Israeli citizen has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after being caught with about 15 kg of drugs at Chisinau Airport. The incident occurred in December 2023, when the man arrived in Chisinau from Amsterdam.
During a luggage inspection, law enforcement officers discovered several cardboard boxes containing yellow-brown crystals. When questioned, the defendant claimed he was transporting "cat litter."
However, an examination conducted by PCCOCS prosecutors revealed that the substances were synthetic drugs of the MDMA type, which pose serious health risks.
As part of the sentence, the defendant is to be deported to Israel.
