Government reshuffles criticized by opposition and extra-parliamentary parties

The government reshuffles were criticized by parliamentary and extra-parliamentary opposition parties who say they expected more changes in key ministries and other ministerial candidacies. The largest party in the parliamentary opposition - the Socialist Party - announced that it would demand the resignation of the Recean Government in corpore and the triggering of early parliamentary elections.

The Socialists assert that the country is in a deep crisis, for which the current government must take responsibility. They view the recent government reshuffles as merely a facade, affecting only three ministers.

Dinu Plângău, President of the DA Platform from the "Împreuna" Bloc, emphasized that this minor reshuffle does not result in significant changes within the government's cabinet.

"They would have been better off doing nothing than changing a few people to favor their friends in key positions. I don't believe anything will change at the government level. In my opinion, Maia Sandu and PAS had a substantial opportunity after the second round of the presidential election to alter their approach and strengthen society's alignment with European values, particularly in addressing the issues encountered during the presidential and local elections," said Plângău.

He also mentioned that more extensive changes are necessary, not only at the ministerial level but also within the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Information and Security Service, to combat corruption, including political corruption, especially with the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Ion Ceban, leader of the National Alternative Movement Party, and Renato Usatîi, leader of the Our Party formation, reacted with irony to the changes in the cabinet.

"I must say that it is both laughable and disheartening. They moved one minister from one role to another, and the changes made by the other side were ineffective. I have absolutely no expectations from them," said Ceban.

"Today, we witnessed that Dorin Recean wanted to change almost all the ministers, yet in the end, only a few ministers, whom no one knows about, were replaced," commented Usatîi during a live broadcast.

Those who anticipated that the reshuffles would lead to significant changes in the Recean government are left disappointed. Igor Munteanu, leader of the Coalition for Unity and Welfare, expressed his disapproval in a Facebook post, describing the reshuffles as a parody and criticizing the government's superficiality. Government representatives have not yet responded to these criticisms.
