US embassy in Kiev closes after warning of 'significant airstrike'
The United States Embassy in Kyiv announces that it has received information regarding a potential significant airstrike on November 20. As a precaution, the embassy will be closed, and diplomatic mission employees are instructed to take shelter, reports SkyNews.
"The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens to be prepared to shelter in place immediately if an air alert is issued," the U.S. State Department for Consular Affairs said in a post on X.
The news comes just days after the Biden administration announced it would allow US-made weapons to be used against Russian targets.
Moscow announced on Tuesday that Ukraine had hit Russia with six US-supplied long-range ATACMS missiles.
