Action Plan of the Republic of Moldova for 2025-2028 was approved by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe
The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has approved a new Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova for the period 2025-2028. This plan was developed in collaboration with national authorities and civil society organizations.
According to a press release from the Council of Europe, the organization will continue to support the Republic of Moldova in aligning its legislation, institutions, and practices with Council of Europe standards in human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
The action plan aims to aid Moldova in implementing ambitious reforms essential for the European Union accession process. It will also assist national authorities in addressing challenges posed by regional and global crises, including the effects of the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine.
This marks the fourth action plan from the Council of Europe for Moldova since 2013. It introduces new focus areas, such as combating human trafficking, preventing drug use and addiction, enhancing civil society involvement, and encouraging youth participation in democratic decision-making. The estimated cost for implementing these initiatives is approximately 30 million euros.
