The OSCE Ministerial Council’s meeting in Lodz: Nicu Popescu demands the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, is participating in the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), held in Lodz (Poland).

During the meeting, the foreign ministers of the OSCE participating states will review and assess the security situation, as well as discuss the organization's activity. The head of diplomacy from Chisinau will give a speech in which he will talk about the consequences of the war in Ukraine and the problem of the Transnistrian region. Nicu Popescu will reiterate the need to withdraw Russian troops and ammunition from the territory of the Republic of Moldova. "In the afternoon of today I will deliver the national speech, where I will refer to: • the dramatic consequences of the brutal Russian aggression against Ukraine and the repercussions for our country; • the Transnistrian problem - the withdrawal of Russian troops and ammunition stationed illegally on the territory of our country, the human rights situation in the Transnistrian region; - - the dynamic agenda of structured reforms aimed at strengthening the irreversible course of accession to the EU", Popescu wrote on his Telegram account. The 29th annual meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council is held in the Polish city of Lodz. We remind that Poland holds the current presidency of the organization.
