Romanian citizens will travel to China without a visa for one year
Romanian citizens will travel to China without a visa for one year, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) in Bucharest. According to a statement from the Romanian diplomatic mission, the visa exemption will be in effect from November 30, 2024, to December 31, 2025.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its appreciation for the decision of the Chinese authorities to exempt, between November 30, 2024 (00:00, Beijing time) and December 31, 2025 (00:00, Beijing time), from the entry visa requirement, for 30 days, all Romanian citizens, holders of ordinary passports, who travel to the People's Republic of China for one of the following purposes: business, tourism, visit or transit,” reads the statement.
However, Romanian citizens who do not meet these criteria will still be required to obtain a visa to enter China. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that this decision will facilitate mobility for Romanians and enhance people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
“This step could lead to increased cultural and economic exchanges between Romania and China during the mentioned period” informs the MAE.
