A record number of Moldovans with Romanian citizenship participated in the presidential elections in Romania. According to real-time updated data, by 9:00 p.m., approximately 81 thousand Moldovans with Romanian citizenship voted in the 59 polling stations open in the Republic of Moldova. According to data presented by the Central Electoral Bureau in Bucharest, a higher turnout was recorded in Germany, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Italy and Spain. In total, approximately 800 thousand people from the diaspora voted in the presidential election.
