Universities from the Republic of Moldova promoted in India. Dan Perciun: Each international student contributes €10,000 annually to the country's economy.

International students who choose to study in the Republic of Moldova contribute approximately €10,000 each year to the country's economy through tuition fees, accommodation, food, and other services, according to Dan Perciun, the Minister of Education and Research. He noted that these funds support job creation and investment in universities, thereby improving conditions for all students.

These statements were made during his visit to India, where he is participating, along with representatives from several universities, in the World Education Forum 2024 held in New Delhi. The goal of this visit is to promote study opportunities in the Republic of Moldova for Indian students.

Minister Perciun explained that the visit aims to strengthen relations with Indian officials and recruitment companies, as well as to expedite the accreditation process for veterinary medicine specializations with New Delhi authorities.

Additionally, the Moldovan authorities plan to invest significantly in enhancing the international competitiveness of universities. This will be achieved through programs in foreign languages, the training of teaching staff, modernization of infrastructure, and development of administrative capacities.

The Minister also highlighted that the first group of 30 foreign students in veterinary medicine has already arrived in the Republic of Moldova, and another group, which will study in various specialties, is expected in February.
