President Maia Sandu condemns killing of Rabbi Zvi Kogan in UAE
President Maia Sandu condemned the killing of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a dual Moldovan-Israeli citizen, on Monday, November 25.
In a message posted on platform X, the head of state offered condolences to the grieving family and expressed solidarity with all who knew him.
"We mourn the tragic loss of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Moldovan-Israeli citizen, killed in the United Arab Emirates, and we firmly condemn this act of hatred. Hatred has no place in our world. Our thoughts are with his family, the Jewish community, and all who mourn. We are in contact with Israel and the UAE."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau confirmed the death of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a member of the Jewish community in Abu Dhabi. He was a citizen of Israel and Moldova, residing in the UAE under his Moldovan citizenship with resident status.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the act of violence and antisemitism, announcing that it was in contact with the authorities in the UAE and Israel to clarify the circumstances and support the victim's family.
Three individuals were arrested following the discovery of the victim's lifeless body.
