Igor Grosu: We want as many Moldovan products as possible to reach Sweden and to have as many Swedish investors as possible in the Republic of Moldova

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu had an official meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Stockholm on Wednesday. "We reviewed the state of bilateral relations (...) at the same time, we talked about intensifying economic and trade cooperation between our countries," the head of the Chisinau legislature wrote on his Facebook page.

Igor Grosu added that a special point of the talks was the reform agenda and the priorities of the government for the coming years. "For the year 2023, we have set ourselves the goal of returning to economic growth and supporting the business environment," stated Igor Grosu.

Another priority is the development of renewable energy production, according to the Speaker, and Moldova is interested in Sweden's experience in implementing green energy generation projects.

"I reassured the Swedish Prime Minister that the Parliament and the Government of the Republic of Moldova are fully committed to the economic development of the country and to creating favourable conditions for the development of business and investments," Igor Grosu added.

Concluding the meeting, the Head of Parliament expressed his gratitude for the generous support that Sweden has provided to the Republic of Moldova over the past years.

"The Swedish government has always provided support and developed important projects for the development of creative industries, wine, tourism, but also in the field of improving the business environment, local development and strengthening democratic institutions in the Republic of Moldova," Igor Grosu stressed in his post.
