Parliament is in session. Budget package on the agenda
During today’s plenary session, deputies will debate draft laws concerning the state budget for 2025, the state social insurance budget, and the mandatory health insurance funds for the upcoming year. Additionally, amendments to the current year's state budget and state social insurance budget will be examined in their second reading as a priority.
According to the session agenda approved by the Standing Bureau, deputies will also prioritize examining seven draft acts to align national legislation with European Union standards. These projects focus on: improving the mechanism for confiscating criminal assets; revising the asylum procedure; enhancing the freedom of establishment for service providers; regulating works and service concessions; promoting fairness and transparency for enterprises utilising online intermediation services; implementing a remuneration policy for individuals in responsible company positions; and classifying the carcasses of cattle, pigs, and sheep.
Moreover, deputies are expected to ratify a Financing Agreement with the European Investment Bank for the "Forest Development Program in Moldova" and adopt emergency support measures for farmers affected by this year’s drought. Additional topics on the plenary session agenda include the electronic form of the attorney's mandate, special protections for children against unlawful travel abroad or detention, efforts to prevent and combat organized crime, and measures to address environmental pollution.
