Meeting at the Ministry of Energy: Borosan will manage the institution's activities until a new appointment
This morning, a working meeting convened by Prime Minister Dorin Recean was held at the Ministry of Energy to prepare for the establishment of a state of emergency in the energy sector, scheduled for December 16. Prime Minister appointed State Secretary Constantin Borosan to coordinate all administrative and organizational processes within the ministry during this period.
"The main directions for immediate action and the preparations for the state of emergency in the energy sector have been outlined. Next week, we will present all necessary steps to the Committee for Emergencies, the Government, and Parliament to establish this state of emergency starting December 16," said Dorin Recean.
On December 5, Prime Minister Recean requested the resignation of Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, interim director of Energocom Victor Bînzari, and Moldovagaz Supervisory Board member Sergiu Tofilat, citing inefficient management of gas purchases. All individuals under scrutiny have rejected the accusations. Recean also instructed the Public Property Agency (APP) to appoint a new member to the Moldovagaz Supervisory Board soon and to implement the results of the competition for selecting the new management of the Board of Directors.
These decisions faced criticism from both the opposition and civil society, which called for the dismissal of Vadim Ceban, the current director of Moldovagaz. In a TV announcement, Recean proposed Dorin Junghietu as a replacement for Ceban but he emphasized that the final decision regarding his retention or replacement would rest with the new Council of Observers.
