European leaders will reaffirm their support for Ukraine. The extraordinary meeting of the European Council begins in Brussels
The European leaders are to reaffirm the commitment of the European Union and the member states to support Ukraine at all levels, as well as to further engage the responsibility of the Russian Federation in the framework of the extraordinary meeting of the European Council, which begins its work today in Brussels.

During the meeting, the latest developments regarding the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine will be discussed, including in the context of the soon-to-be one-year anniversary of its launch. The European leaders will also analyze the best solutions at the European level to ensure the short- and long-term competitiveness of the European Union economy and its adaptation to the double green and digital transition, starting from the proposals presented by the European Commission through the Green Deal Industrial Plan. Another topic on the agenda of the meeting is the management of migration, as a challenge that requires a common European response, with the aim of agreeing on concrete ways of action regarding the external dimension of migration, external border control, cooperation on return and readmission or combating trafficking of migrants.
