EU will disburse last 50 Million Euro installment of macro-financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova
The European Union will disburse the last 50 million euro tranche of macro-financial assistance for this year for the Republic of Moldova. This was announced by the presidential administration after the meeting of President Maia Sandu with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
According to the institution's press release, during the meeting, it was agreed to boost the reform of the judiciary and increase European support for this process to 10 million euros. Mai Sandu and Ursula von der Leyen also discussed support for improving the standard of living in the Republic of Moldova, including through the implementation of the Economic Growth Plan, which provides for investments worth 1.8 billion euros from the European Union.
The head of state stated that the Republic of Moldova is moving towards the European Union because we want a better life for each of us, and our European friends are with us in this effort. In turn, President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that together, we are building a European Moldova so that every citizen can feel a change for the better.
We remind you that the President of the Republic of Moldova is on a two-day visit to Brussels to meet with the new leadership of the European institutions. A meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is also planned, to discuss relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Alliance and issues related to regional security.
