Measures to prevent and mitigate the impact of the energy crisis in the event of Gazprom's cessation of natural gas supplies to the left bank of the Nistru, starting with January 1, 2025, were discussed by members of the Governmental Commission for Coordination of Preparation Measures for the 2024-2025 heating season.

During the meeting, Moldelectrica announced that it had successfully tested the island operation of the four 110 kilovolt interconnection lines with Romania and discussions are underway to increase the capacity of electricity delivered through the European electricity network.
According to officials from the Material Reserves Agency, coal reserves are 100% secured, and fuel oil reserves are being replenished within the limits of existing storage capacities.
