The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a telephone conversation with the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, announces the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova.
Maia Sandu and Marcelo Rebelo reviewed the developments in the region and talked about the economic cooperation between the two countries. The head of state thanked for the support and humanitarian aid offered in the management of the refugee crisis from Ukraine in our country, as well as for the support in our process of obtaining the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union. The Republic of Moldova and Portugal mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Portuguese Republic were established on February 10, 1993. The two countries have concluded bilateral agreements in social security, avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion, tourism, academic, scientific and cultural cooperation, international transport.
